Bushcraft Courses
Join us at our stunning oak canopied private woodland set within the Harewood Estate of West Yorkshire. Our canopied basecamp and a wood fire ensure our clients keep dry and the kettle is always boiling so bring along your favourite brew.
All of our sessions are run with a maximum of 10 people, that way we can maintain a low presence in the forest in order to experience Nature up close. The small group sizes also ensure a high level of interaction with the instructor, we'll get plenty of one to one tuition through the workshops to develop your skills at your own pace.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions, we're very open and there's no obligations.
Essentials Navigation Day Course - Wayfinder Series
Essentials Navigation Day Course - Wayfinder Series
Our progressive Wayfinder series of courses will introduce you to the Keys to the Wilderness, your map and compass. Learning to use the compass in relation to a map will unlock the hidden paths of the world, you’ll discover your own ability to find your way, read the land, and use the tools to make effective decisions outdoors.
The ability to walk over the land with a clear understanding of where you are, and where you’ve come from forges a bond with your environment like nothing else. You have, even from the forest floor, an opportunity to see a birds-eye view of the land through the map; and by mean of the humble compass you’ve access to the planetary forces of our world that aline needles north/south. These tools, used in conjunction with that more subtle sense of direction that can be gleaned from the trees, plants and stars themselves serve to guide you across your journeys. I’ve often marvelled at the sense of achievement we feel in hitting a small mark over miles of terrain with these skills, and that’s why I’m bringing you this series courses. -Jamie Dakota

From here we launch into a day of skills and excellent landscapes, returning at the end of the day for a debrief followed by an optional tailored tour of the store where the Alpkit store team can speak about their product design and materials, developments and repairs.
